Kathmandu – In the sequence of events on Friday in Bal Kumari, Lalitpur, where two young men lost their lives, the government has decided to provide relief of 10-10 lakh rupees to the families.
The decision to provide relief of 10 (10 lakh rupees each) to the families of the deceased in Bal Kumari incident was made in the Cabinet meeting held on Saturday in Baluwatar. The decision was communicated by the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma.
According to Minister Sharma, the meeting expressed condolences for the deceased in the incident and decided to provide relief at the rate of 10 lakh rupees per family. The meeting also discussed the government’s commitment to bear the medical expenses of those injured in the incident, emphasizing a swift focus on health benefits.
Minister Sharma stated that the meeting conducted an impartial investigation into the incident and made decisions to take prompt action and prevent such incidents in the future.
On Friday, the youths who had taken the Korean language exam to qualify for jobs related to the construction of Pancheshwor Hydropower Project demonstrated in Bal Kumari, Lalitpur, after failing the exam. In the course of the demonstration, two youths lost their lives on the police side.
After the incident, on Saturday, the government formed a three-member inquiry committee under the coordination of Lalmani Acharya, DIG of Nepal Police. The committee includes Amardeep Sunuwar, Assistant Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, and Basu Sigdel, Research Director of the National Investigation Department.
Minister Sharma informed that a serious discussion took place in the Cabinet meeting regarding the incident.
