kathmandu. The Machapuchare Bank is extending support in the construction of essential infrastructure for three schools in Bagmati, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, Kathmandu. Machapuchare Bank has pledged cooperation in the construction of schools in collaboration with its social responsibility within the three provinces. The bank has communicated its commitment to assisting various government schools in Bagmati, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces in necessary infrastructure development.
The bank has signed agreements to support the construction of necessary facilities in Sharada Napa (Ward 15, Malneta) in Surkhet district, Karnali Province, and Shailashwari Higher Secondary School premises (Ward 6, Badeha) in Godawari Napa, Kailali district, Sudurpashchim Province. Additionally, Machapuchare Bank has also committed to supporting the construction of essential facilities in Kamana Napa (Ward 4, Lamtangin) at Panchakanya Fundamental School in Bagmati Province.
In response to the challenges faced in education due to the lack of essential facilities like water supply and sanitation, the bank has decided to undertake the construction of necessary infrastructure for two government schools after assessing their conditions.
Trihuvan Jan Secondary School, situated at an altitude of 3500 meters in Muhana, has successfully implemented a water supply system by laying pipes, providing water facilities to overcome water scarcity during the dry season. However, the school has faced issues such as water shortage during the monsoon, and the pipeline supplying water to the school is at risk of closure due to landslides. Similarly, Shailashwari Higher Secondary School, with 1800 students and 35 staff members, is struggling with poor conditions of the temporary toilets, and students and teachers are facing difficulties.
The agreement for the construction of pre-requisite infrastructure was signed by the chairman of the School Management Committee and Santosh Koirla, the chief executive officer of Machapuchare Bank. According to the agreement, Machapuchare Bank will facilitate the construction of water supply facilities at Trihuvan Jan Secondary School and the construction of toilets at Shailashwari Higher Secondary School.
Furthermore, the bank has responded to the request from Kathmandu Metropolitan City regarding the categorization of Panchakanya Fundamental School and has decided to provide support for the construction of assembly halls due to the lack of space for various educational programs.
Machapuchare Bank, as part of its social responsibility, has been actively collaborating with various organizations in different regions of the country, focusing on sectors such as health, education, infrastructure development, financial literacy, and sustainable development.
