Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has expressed dissatisfaction with the insufficient marketing of Nepal’s unique production, services, and domestically available goods. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the ENMA Marketing Summit organized by the Nepal Marketing Association, Minister Dr. Mahat emphasized the necessity of collectively marketing Nepali production.
‘Uniqueness is currently a global trend. Many countries are ahead of us due to uniqueness. By producing unique goods in Nepal, we can market them globally. Consumers are often more interested in something different than what others offer. Nepal’s advantage is its uniqueness,’ said Minister Dr. Mahat. He added, ‘Our culture, tradition, ethnic diversity, wildlife, and unity are distinctive identities here.’
Minister Dr. Mahat stated, ‘What is spoken sells, what is not spoken does not sell.’ He emphasized that the consumer’s mindset is crucial for the success of a product, and leaving an impression that it must be used, eaten, worn, seen, heard, and listened to is what makes it sell. Advertising alone is not enough; there must be qualities to make it lasting. If there are no qualities, it won’t last.’
‘The country’s economy was facing challenges, but extensive improvements are underway. We have successfully navigated through various political ups and downs. Now there is a clear roadmap for progress. We prepared the political foundation; now it is necessary to prepare the economic foundation. We are confident that we can prepare this foundation,’ said Minister Dr. Mahat. He added, ‘Our economic indicators are positive. Inflation is under control, the interest rate has decreased, and there have been improvements in the stock market. Economic activities are also expanding.’
‘The current necessity is to gain self-confidence. Positive messages need to flow for that. So far, we have talked about many negative things, and this has weakened our self-confidence. Negative messages have weakened us,’ Minister Dr. Mahat explained. He added, ‘Positive messages boost confidence in our business and trade. Increased confidence in consumers leads to growth in business and trade. Investment increases as there is momentum in business and trade. This boosts economic activities.’
