Barhathwa Incident: Government Decides to Provide Ten Lakhs to the Deceased Families, Inquiry Committee Formed

Kathmandu. In the sequence of demonstrations in Barhathwa Municipality of Sarlahi, where a human tragedy occurred, the Ministry of Home Affairs has formed a committee to investigate the incident.

Regarding the aforementioned incident, a three-member committee has been formed on Saturday under the coordination of Thaneshwar Gautam, the secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, to conduct an inquiry, as stated by the spokesperson of the ministry, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai. According to him, the committee has been directed to submit its report within seven days.

The committee includes Deputy Inspector General of Police Surendra Mainali and Bhimbahadur Budhathoki, the director of the National Investigation Department.

The government has also decided to provide ten lakhs as relief to the families of the deceased, as mentioned in the ministry’s press release.
